Beluga Racer won the local wednesday evening race out of Marblehead!

Four nations on the boat: Peter from Marblehead, America – navigation, Fabrice from St. Malo, France – helmsman, Jan from Kopenhagen, Denmark – tactician and me, jumping around and helping out – we together did a nice team effort moving the boat smoothly around the cans in 8 to 10 knots of breeze in grim weather with rain and fog.
Although we could not all speak the same language and had to translate, it has been a great pleasure to sail well together.

Jan Saugman arrived today and after days of horrible post-transat-tiredness we just started getting the boat into good shape and did a good first warm-up for the Marblehead to Halifax race starting next Sunday.

We are looking forward to experience the predominant downwind-conditions and hopefully having a low with breeze passing by to get in position for an attack on the actual record which is 33 Hours and an average of roughly 11 knots.

Have a good day and follow the race news online here from Sunday 6 p.m. UTC.
