Logbook 31. March

Don’t look at the GPS! Don’t check the distance! Don’t follow the miles counting backwards on the display, because that makes it to be frozen and the numbers won’t change any more! Better reading old newspapers once again, or that book which I would never read, if I would be onshore. Besides that we have fantastic sailing conditions - blue ocean, water turtles, 25 degrees air temperature and a 10 to 12 knotes breeze today. We seem to control the race from the lead, which is nice and there are still unwatched movies on the hard disc. Yesterday Boris and I watched a movie about Che Guevara and his friend Alberto doing a journey across South America. In German it is called ” Die Reise des jungen Che”. They were in the same age as us. So we discover many similarities between them and us. No worries, I am not preparing any kind of revolution for Europe (Can’t speak for Boris in this point :-). One aspect is, that we are often asked, why we are doing this. In the movie the questions also appears and they do not know what to answer.
But you can see how Che and Alberto feel that they are doing the right thing. That is absolutely the same for us. No matter how fast the numbers change on the GPS display.
@scot: We would love to wear SA- T-Shirts. Is there a chance to get us two.
Maybe in Charleston?
